You are not using logic properly, PP.
You are the nanny and presumably not super wealthy. You pride yourself on your charges being courteous, which can only mean that you are responsible for having taught them manners. I therefore predict that any children you will have will be courteous, too. All on a household income that's perhaps not very high.
Do you see how it boils down to the character of the parents or caregivers, regardless of income?
It's amazing how we can have this discussion and not talk about the characters of the adults raising these kids. You could argue that in low-income situations, worthy but uneducated parents cannot properly teach their own children, but even in food stamp territory, there are many well-bred and perfectly competent parents with delightful children.
OP and yourself are just another example of stunted people living in a bubble.
While I don't make a lot of money I do have s significant net worth and I come from an upper middle class household. My cousins that are dirt poor do drugs and are raising children that will probably turn out worse then them.

We can tell our children run academic & soft skill circles around their solidly middle class cousins. I really don't think it's IQ, it's just environment and better schools and higher-caliber peers. Makes me so sad. I wonder if their parents are as cognizant as we are while we watch them interact?
No. Mainly because even the poorest in my community (Asian Americans) are academically advanced than other groups. Nothing to do with environment, better schools, HHI, high-caliber peers - everything to do with parenting, cultural values, intact families and work ethic. I laugh at clueless parents who think that they have been able to provide an edge to their children by being affluent. lulz!

This is PP, and yes, I speak Mandarin. Don't be hard on a child just because she is privileged. Give credit where credit is due.

It's true that Asians are more academically advanced but we need to be because we don't have white privilege or connections unless our dad is a surgeon and Harvard MD.
