Not only that, he had the ridiculous idea that the government is spying on U.S. citizens.

He even championed the use of dangerous encryption technology.

Hahahahaha!!!!!

Nicely done.

This article was published in the Bethesda Beat last night. The owner's son was afraid of North Korea and was digging some type of underground shelter. But the relationship between him and the poor man who died is just bizarre.

http://www.bethesdamagazine.com/Bethesda-Beat/2018/Grand-Jury-Indicts-Man-Accused-of-Murder-in-Fatal-Bethesda-House-Fire/

The article says the tunnels started from a shaft 20 feet down. Where would they put all the dirt that they took from the tunnels? How can anyone dig down 20 feet especially from an existing basement? That is incredibly deep. Does that mean the tunnels started 10 feet below the basement? There must have been a big pile of dirt somewhere on the property. It says that there was a shower and lighting in the tunnels geririgged by a series of extension cords.

If I was a next door neighbor I'd be very concerned about tunnels running under my yard or house. I wonder if the authorities can do some type of imaging to determine exactly where the tunnels are before the house is torn down.

Dia Khafra, the father of the victim, said in February that before his son died, Askia had told his girlfriend about tunnels that were 100 feet long, 15 feet below ground level and special rooms he was not allowed into.

I don’t understand why that kid allowed himself to be blindfolded.

I read somewhere that the homeowner made an investment in a tech start up he was trying to get off the ground.

He was clearly planning a kidnapping. Have you seen his picture? Guarantee that some poor unsuspecting person was saved by that fire and the death of that poor young man. I don’t understand why that kid allowed himself to be blindfolded. Strange all around.

exactly. to care, I would need some kind of closure or at least some good theories. OP, I hear you, some truths are stranger than fiction... and this is wild - but I personally need some more juicy details (without clicking on links).

It's got everything DC. Politics, terrorism maybe, intrigue, race, class, weirdness, property rights, murder/accidental death

I brought it to DCUM because there are SO many unanswered questions, and so often in those cases, some anonymous DCUMer has answers.

Why doesn't DCUM care?

Because it's a thread full of links and lots of us don't click links. Try providing a synopsis and starting a dialogue.

The tale from the Centreville contractor is fascinating (and done dcum right!). I can't believe the neighbors aren't horrified. They are sharing yard, roof, walls with this lunatic. Also are probably getting water issues.

Why don't you click links?

+1. Seriously. This is a topic of great interest to you and you won’t click on a Washington Post article about it? That’s not our problem, it’s yours.

Not great enough interest to click through, apparently, so it's back to your problem, since nobody at dcum seems to care.
