She was nothing like the person described in the NY Mag article, clearly she was at a real low point right before September 11. My opinion is that she was not the person on the security video, and did not die at the World Trade Center.
She was not seen by anyone after the afternoon after the 10th. So she either met with foul play that night or saw an opportunity to escape a life that was making her miserable. If she simply stayed with someone Monday night and died at the wtc, that person would have come forward.
What was she like?
Very charming, very sophisticated, very smart. Always dated men when I knew her, but never Indian men, that was her form of rebellion.
Her family does have closure, they truly believe that she did a hero at the wtc.

By herself at a restaurant? Weird.
Then who was she with the night before?
That's not so weird. People go alone to restaurants all the time. Especially if her intent was just to see it in advance of her friends' wedding.
They know who was at Windows on the World because they all lived through impact and had phone contact with emergency services. They identified everyone present and she was not there.
That's why her family hasn't been insisting she was there, they believe she was rendering aid.

Someone killed her late on the 10th, and then the 11th came around and the answer to "what do I do with this body now?" was obvious: it was the perfect opportunity to dispose of a body. I'd imagine there were piles and piles of garbage and burnt things, right? Were they searching everything for bodies? Would anyone notice a large garbage bag or duffel amidst the mess?[/quotei
I was in NYC at the time and worked nearby.t No way could a rando get close enough to dump a body. There were blockades blocks and blocks away.c
The weirdest thing is the 4 am call from the house to his cell phone. Was he really home?
That 4am call stood out to me, too. But he said that he may have groggily been using the home phone to check messages on his cell phone and didn't have a clear memory of doing that because he was half asleep.

Doesn't look like it.
The husband may have killed her, she might have killed herself, she might have been randomly killed by someone she picked a fight with at a bar, or she may have left to live a new life. It's coincidence that it happened to be September 11.
She could have gotten drunk and fallen in the river

The 4am call was weird, he wasn't sure if he made it.

Wow, I feel badly for that mom who's son with the pizza place job disappeared.
Where is the story about the pizza place son?
