It's not realistic. Men put their job first. They don't put their spouse 1st and if they did they would not be able to support the family. Sometime a woman has to put the job 1st too.

If a woman came on here and said my H puts his job 1st and spends more time with the kids than me he would get an award.

If the spouse reneges their remark and says, "I'm sorry honey, you're #1" does that do the trick? Would that put your mind at ease that you're the be-all-end-all to your spouse's existence?

Husbands come and go but your kids are your kids forever. Not only that, but I am actually related to the kids.

It is not uncommon that one has to protect the kids from their mother or their father, so yeah, the kids need to be your first priority no matter which parent you are.
