If you are responding to me (21:48), I understand and agree with you. My point is that if the buses were parked collectively in one or two spots it would be easier to tackle problems, but the problem is compounded when they are parked all over the county in small groups.

I've been here 9 years. I only remember one time that school was cancelled in Chicago - a week when the wind chill was around -40.

What I was responding to was the suggestion that schools should be cancelled more often here than they are already. And I say absolutely not. If anything they already cancel too quickly in my opinion.

How long have you been here? They only closed school that one time for record cold temperature, and even Chicago has occasionally closed school for record cold temperatures. Here, when 20%+ of the bus fleet doesn't start, that is when they delay or close schools. They also close schools for ice, but that happens more in 20-30° degree weather rather than record cold.
