AND she implies that this was a lucky result for DD and that she's likely to do worse if she tried again. She's probably more like an 1150 type student.
OP, subsidizing others is the least of your worries. You should concentrate on helping your kid get into a school whose degree is worth the paper its printed on.

My concern is that the model is that "wealthier" people subsidize the poor/ Middle Class at these colleges. I'm looking for a school that I'll really get the right bang for the buck. My DD has 3.8 unweighted and a 1250 on the SAT.
