As I read this thread, it saddens me -- I am dying of cancer after 25 years of marriage. My wife might remarry. I don't know. We have produced a beautiful and intelligent teen daughter.

So there are people that think that, if my wife remarries, she should be buried with someone else? Or people that do not grasp that there should be no jealousy towards a dead person?

I mean, I am the one who loses. I will not see my daughter graduate from high school. At this point, it is not clear if I will even live to see a total solar eclipse (big deal for me). I am not sure if I will make it three more months. (I will end treatment in early August if my situation does not improve; that is when the next scans are).

We bought two plots. I guess that was a waste of money.

LOL Exactly no wonder he left. We are on our second marriage. Married 20 years. Our assets are ours which is what we worked for. This is either a bitter ex wife, or bitter underachiever child. Either way, they need to make their own way in the world. No one owes you pp!

Oh good grief. I'm not even the poster you're responding to but I don't get it. Why so much hatred for a 2nd wife? Assuming she's a perfectly nice lady who met DH after he'd divorced and was ready to move on.

Life happens. So does divorce and death. That doesn't mean people must remain single and lonely.


Dear Lord, I was just having a little sarcastic fun! I didn't think everybody would be so serious and then it was too hard to resist making fun of all the high strung people. But, I do think if there are no kids with the second wife, first spouses should rest together for kid's sake. Sorry if my sarcasm went too far.

Agreed. Jeez, the entire underlying theme on this site of "women, please divorce and remain single till you die" is getting really really old. You all need better hobbies.

Personally, if I ever scrounge up a plan B, I don't know what I would plan to do. I didn't make any provision to be buried next to plan A, and you gotta do the right thing for the people still in front of you. If that means a joint plot with plan B, so be it.

Presumably a plot was purchased for the husband when first wife died (or even earlier). If you know he doesn't want to be cremated, then it's fair game to ask where he wants to be buried. If he doesn't intend to use the spot next to first wife, wouldn't he then sell it? Burial plots can be pricey!

Imo,, the fact that Jackie & JFK's stillborn daughter was buried alongside her father in Arlington gives added weight to the argument that burying Jackie there, as well, was the best choice in that particular case.

Chances are kids would have him moved after Wife 2 dies anyway. So Wife 1 should cremate and give them 1/2 the ashes. Or spread them at sea together.


I'm guessing you meant to write Wife 2 here since Wife 1, being long dead & buried, hasn't been able to cremate anyone or give away anything in many years.
