My White 50ish woman boss who was childless and the second wife of a much older man with 5 adult children - send me the picture of a baby chimpanzee nursing - when she came to know that I was applying for the daycare facility in my office so that I would be able to nurse my newborn during my breaks. She told me that breastfeeding is the grossest thing in the world.

I am a minority woman. I worked in a big name hospitality company headquartered locally that is considered a great place for working moms but that was all bullshit.

Holy shit.

Holy shit, indeed. I'd have raised a fuss over that.

My boss proposed to nickname me The Gimp in an allusion to Pulp Fiction.

I was working at Goldman Sachs. I was an unpaid intern. I turned 21 while working there and my boss invited me for a drink. He was a VP, so conclude what income you want from that. We go have a drink, he finishes his, declares he has to go, and leaves me - the unpaid intern - with the bill.

He was a dick.

Interesting how almost everyone posting appears to be a woman. Would love to hear responses from men. Or do these kind s of things not really happen to men?

My boss suggested I get into a car accident so he would have an excuse for why he missed a deadline.

oh the list is too long.....

the highlights include:

I interviewed a lot of people for this job and everyone was pretty equally qualified so I went with pretty and smart.

You are not going to get anywhere in this company while I am still here.

Have you ever thought of being a stay at home mom? I think it is sad when moms return to work.

If you were a little bit shorter you might be more likeable

At my first job my boss told me she didn't want me to participate in staff meetings because she didn't believe in them. She would sit there silently when asked questions but I simply couldn't just sit there and ignore the owner so I would answer and she would yell at me later. Not that the owner was some prize -- he'd search our garbage cans at night and if we threw away a rolodex card that hadn't been used on both sides we'd find it back on our desk. They were a bunch of fucking lunatics.
