Wow. I watched the "that's for sure" comment first and didn't see it as that big of a deal and then went back and watched the exchange between Nancy and Reid about twins and Nancy's outburst. That was incredibly unprofessional and makes her later comment even worse I didn't understand before that she was telling Reid that she was personally offended by his (very sensible)b questions. It's completely possible to make an emotional and passionate plea and case in political circumstances without acting as rude as she did. Ugh.

Huh? Did you mean to respond to a different thread?
There's only one current SB member who has been around long enough to blame for lack of foresight and planning. Coincidentally, he is up for reelection this very May. I will be registering my displeasure with this member by voting against him, and voting for both of his opponents. He's certainly not the only one to blame for this, but he's the only one who is up for a vote this year.

I certainly don't mean to lay this all at the door of the current SB and administration. But everyone seemed surprised that the people buying giant faux Craftsman houses filled them with babies who grew up and wanted to go to school. And when things like the McKinley numbers foulup happen, no one looks for root causes or decides to hold up on related decisions until they know what's happening. They don't look for the least expensive approach to solving problems. They don't make plans to assess the costs and benefits of programs.
Demands are increasing and money is limited. As bad as things are now, they are going to get worse.

I am not a fan of Libby Garvey, but I think that she was making decisions about enrollment before the kids who are currently in K-2 were even born. It's really hard to predict K enrollment more than 5 years out.

I have a 1 year old. We are moving out of state, and I'm not sad about it. My kid would have gotten a good education here, but I'm relieved to not be worrying about this anymore.
I'm still going to the caucus. This county needs some changes.
