How are they supporting themselves?
Anna is part of this show on TLC. Maybe you've heard of it...?
I would guess they banked a significant portion of their income when they were full-fledged cast members. Josh has also consistently worked, at the car lot they had and he had a salary at his actual job at the FRC hate group in DC.
Josh has reopened his used car lot as well.
His dad's used car lot, you mean.

Her view of reality is likely so skewed that there is very little hope of a normal life for her. I feel sorry for her, but even worse for her children and all the other women and children in that crazy, dysfunctional family.
She probably felt there was no option but to return to her husband and breed some more. Tragic.
Do you actually know that she was raised in a trailer park?
Yes
I think it may have been a trailer, but I thought it was in a rural area on some land - not a "trailer park."
You are correct. It's a huge farm. I know (of) the Kellers through a friend of a friend.

Anonymous wrote:"Flyover" is not an insult. It's just a fact. I'm from OH ... it is in fact "flyover".

Not sure what you are implying but I doubt that he forced her to have sex. If she didn't want to be around him, she wouldn't be around him.
They married each other wanting to have a big family. They apparently STILL want to have a big family even after the big scandal. And that's exactly what they are doing.
Personally, I think I would have kept it at 4 kids if I were Anna. But I'm not Anna.
It's not so simple in their cult. The women are raised to be submissive and do what they need to do to make their marriages work. She was blamed for his indiscretions.
I'm not sure if there was a lot of pressure on her to stay. From what I read, many people in her family were encouraging her to leave.
She was living in Arlington (or at least somewhere in Northern Virginia) when the sh*t hit the fan about Josh. The woman was not living an isolated cultish life. She was quite happy being in the public eye and she had an outpouring of support when this news came out. People felt horrible for Anna and she probably had access to a lot more help than average.
If she chose to stay with Josh, that is on Anna.
-Maryland.
-You can be in the "public eye" and not associate with that public, thanks to the magic of cameras. Cameras = $$ for the Dugger clan. We have all been exposed to the Duggars, but to say that they have been immersed in much culture outside of their own cultish families and compounds is a joke.
-What form did that "help" take?
-Agree that probably no one is physically forcing her to stay in the marriage, but what are the consequences for her if she divorces him? There is a lot of pressure in that circle not to give up on a marriage.
She does not live a free life in the same way that most Americans live a free life. She lives life as an insulated member of an extremely conservative cult.

Her brother, who escaped the Gothard cult, offered to help her get out. But she stayed.
