They probably supported each other through something extremely tragic. It was probably easy because they knew each other. And for her, she knows he is someone who undoubtedly loves her kids. I hope they find happiness.

Page Six had on-the-record quotes from the Bidens. You think that's how the Bidens preferred to break the story to the public? In Page Six before the divorce was even filed? It's likely that Page Six had dirt on the affair and forced the Bidens' hand.

This is what I was thinking too. Her DH died in spring 2015, about five months later Hunter and spouse separated. Now Hallie and Hunter announce a deep love so they have been dating for more than a couple of months. If Hunter and wife are heading to divorce and this new love was all on the up and up, starting this relationship would have waited until after they are divorced. That would avoid a scandal and allow the divorcing couple to resolve the emotions of divorce. Divorce and separation is stressful and traumatic and I can't imagine that any family would want this arrangement, especially so early after a separation, even with no affair. So I agree there was probably an affair.

You really can't see why this would be awful for his kids? If the relationship becomes permanent, he will be with his own kids (hopefully) 50% of the time but his nephews 100% of the time. You don't see how his own kids will feel slighted in favor of their cousins? These won't be a strangers kids.

You don't know the details of their family dynamics.

Oh please. These are kids. You're lacking some major emphathy if you can't see how bad of a situation this would be for his children.

I'm the second PP (the post immediately above yours is a different poster, fwiw). I can definitely see how this situation could be difficult for Hunter's kids. That doesn't mean that the first PP's statement that Hunter "left" his own kids to be with Hallie & her kids is true, however.

I think you are completely right- its not necessarily cause and effect but my 1st gut feeling was "no kids, who cares, but with kids involved it just feels messy"- even in a situation where every thing is on the up and up, no cheating, perfect "timeline" where no one is slighting someone else, its still hard, kids might still feel things like jealousy, abandonment, etc. down the road when it gets to dynamics. I know teenage me would say things are fine but would secretly hate this idea, and then would make myself sick with guilt for hating it since I love my family, and should want them happy, etc.

Its hard with kids. This isn't the 20s or shit even the 50s or 60s, people's circles aren't that small any more, there are just way more options.

I think it's weird. But hey, it happened on Friday Night Lights and I thought that was weird too... perhaps it is a thing that happems frequently between grieving people.

My aunt married her brother in law after her husband died. They were all young in their 20s. My aunt didn't have any children with her first husband but later had 3 children with the brother in law. This was a generation ago. As a child when I found out about it it seemed so scandelous but in reality they were both greiving and the brother in law stepped in out of honor at first.
