Obviously this isn't a representative sample, but nevertheless, the statistics are that the large majority of women in their mid-30s will get pregnant within the year, so many will be successful in the first month or two. And success is more likely if you are educated and tracking your fertility.

How old is your dh, Op? We tried for 6 months when I was 33 and nothing. DH is 6 years older. DH went for a sperm analysis and he had very, very low count/motility.
