The article says her affair is with someone in the industry.I bet Tarek figured this out and freaked. I feel bad for Tarek, he seems like a nice guy.

I was talking to someone about this too - the show and relationship definitely has a different dynamic than the "family-centric" Gaines' show. However, I also was just told that the evangelical church the Gaines' attends has some anti-LGBTQ views that some (including me) would find objectionable, so that has colored my view a bit on the Gaines.
Oh, you mean a Christian church? Do you distance yourself from all Catholics, and almost all Christians, too, due to the views their pastor or their church?![]()
My Christian church is accepting of gays. I'm an episcopalian. And also a Christian Minister. I would love to see Jesus quoted on homosexuality. He never said one word about it. He talked a lot about hypocrisy, pride, indifference, intolerance, lying, stealing, gluttony, etc. We know homosexual behavior was rampant at the time and in the places Jesus ministered. Yet he didn't think homosexuality was important enough to mention. Hmmmmmmmm.
I distance myself from any church that is intolerant. Period. That is not Christ-like behavior by any definition.
Bingo. You choose your affiliations, and hate is hate.
Nobody is asking you to attend that church. My question was do you decide you can't like or accept a person based on their religion? You don't know what the Gaines family believes, yet your view of them is now colored. You just know what their church or, in this specific instance, their pastor, is anti-homosexuality. I'm Catholic. My church doesn't condone homosexuality, but I and many other Catholics are fine with it. Religious intolerance, in the name of tolerance, is hypocritical.

Apparently, all her designs and her push for high end appliances, tiles, countertops, etc. are scripted because she doesn't have any design or interior decorating background. Maybe that's changed now though.
It's such a dumb show. The camera films 10 seconds of Tarek grouting the shower and acts like he did a lot of work when in reality he did it only for show and the camera and Izzy and his crew doing it all. He always acts surprised to find water damage or wood rot or need new subflooring or new plumbing on foreclosed/abandoned houses. Um, really dude?
I wonder if there was financial problems. The one episode I saw showed them buying a house partnered with an investor. I guess they don't have enough cash or credit to buy and flip themselves? Now they have to split any profits with the investor?
