I believe every word about what she says about the religion and the people. She has a lot of guts, and I respect her for standing up to it. Bonus points to her for calling Tom Cruise out on his bs Covid tirade. He’s nuts.

+1. Makes a lot of sense to me. And she sees this as her life mission.

I love her IDGAF attitude. And I think she is GORGEOUS. definitely had some work done, but she looks great.

It freaked me out. Like, they impoverish people who leave and take their families and this is a religion? WTF?

Second mortgages, max out new credit cards.

And that little shit David Miscavige. He is completely INSANE!!!!!

That's not a religion, that's a cult.

Who is Shelly?

Shelly Miscavige, is/was the wife of CO$ leader David Miscavige and headed the SeaOrg. No one outside the church has seen her since before the Tom Cruise/Katie Holmes wedding. Leah Remini filed a missing persons report with LAPD, that was closed after they said she was fine, but the lead detective on the report is involved with CO$. Google for more info.

oh yeah

Thanks

I remember the story from years ago!

YES, I know the one you're speaking of, and I thought of it several times watching this show. One of the men who escaped before the mass suicide/murders was emphatic about saying that a lot of GOOD people died there, and that they're weren't all crazy. The foundations of the church had been admirable, but became twisted by a power-hungry, mentally unstable leader, and some people were just in too deep to get out or see what it had become.

This might seem off topic to some but this is my concern about the republican party now. On the inside, outgoing leaders are already warning employees who will be staying with the administration that they will be prosecuted in the future for any illegal acts this new administration authorizes. Saying 'they made me' will not be an acceptable answer. Off to watch this documentary now to see if there is any way to fight groupthink and continue to lead from within with character and integrity rather than sit from the outside powerless.

Yes, that does seem off topic.

Two new episodes this week--a follow up to Leah's ask me anything from Reddit tonight at 10, then tomorrow the regular episode apparently focuses on Miscavige.
