Regarding Carson, I'll just say this: it is incredibly unusual for a world-renowned surgeon to walk away from medicine at the young age of 62. Someone with his expertise, to not, at the very least, consult on difficult cases? Absolutely unheard of.
Something happened at Hopkins. Something bad enough that they forced him out and got him to agree not to practice anymore, in exchange for keeping the whole thing quiet.

Heck, this has nothing to do with their lack of substantive and managerial experience.
Rather, this has to do with the fact that he has picked people who are philosophically opposed to the very mission of the agency they will lead: a climate change denier for EPA, a charter school champion for Ed, and a crazy person who believes subsidized housing is communism and fair housing laws are social engineering for HUD. Plus, he's picked people who are known (and seemingly proud) racists for other key posts.
If you can't understand why people---both liberals and conservatives alike---are concerned, then you should probably try harder.
Dr Ben Carson is NOT a crazy person, dr jill biden probably is, but that's another story. You are angry, it shows and you are one of those people who will never get over HER loss. Too bad, pop another xanax and sit back, it's going to be a bumpy ride for you.![]()
I'm not a big HRC fan. I'm liberal, and I actually work in the advocacy arena related to HUD.
I also have friends who have worked at Hopkins for decades, and I've heard stories about crazy Ben Carson. I'll just leave it at that and won't go into those details.
All you need to do is read what Carson has publicly said about HUD to realize that he shouldn't lead this agency. And all you need to do is listen to one interview to question his mental health (which has been questioned by his very own friends and colleagues).
I'm not going to weigh in on HRC or Dr. Biden since neither one will run a federal agency or hold an office that impacts my life or anyone else's. No clue why Trumplethinskin's followers are so obsessed with these women who aren't involved in our government. Befuddling.

If it does scare you, you probably got a B- in your non-AP government class.

And, if you think having generals as part of the cabinet equates to a military coup, you have little respect for what members of the military can bring to the government.
These folks are disciplined, knowledgeable, patriotic, and have incredible work ethics.
Couldn’t be more pleased.
Exactly. Thank you.
There is something seriously wrong with both of you.

FWIW, just today, I was chatting with a physician who works at JH who knew Carson well and he said that there is nothing wrong with this brilliant man other than the fact that he is a Republican and being black and a Republican is like the ultimate taboo.
This physician is not a Republican but he has a basic sense of decency and realizes that you don't disparage someone just because he/she espouses a different party.
Is he equipped to handle HUD - probably not and he will need a strong deputy who has executive experience. Carson was appointed to the position to reward him for his loyalty but that happens in both parties.
It just goes on to show how our level of discourse has deteriorated to a point where there cannot be any level of honest disagreement but instead we have to tear down the other side. I have no doubt if Carson had been a Democrat, there would have been praise for him from the liberals and the Republicans would have been tearing him down.

I don't understand the rationale for this: of course, Trump has been selecting conservatives for the most part who would not be the choice of liberals. But this is not any different than when Obama selected his cabinet or Supreme Court nominations - he selected individuals who shared his political philosophy.
Are there any nominations or appointments by Trump that liberals feel represent qualified individuals even if they don't agree with their conservative leanings?

Cool story. They need to check the water at Hopkins (nobody refers to it as JH) if this person thinks nothing is wrong with Carson. And you might to check if you were talking to an imaginary physician.
