That's really odd and kind of sad.
Why is that sad?
Lean meat, four cheeses, all the other stuff
Yummy
Yeah. The crowd pleasing lasagna that I make costs closer to $8 per x-large pan.
What kind of lean meat are you using ?
What in the hell?
NP. I would be frightened to eat your lasagna. It sounds about the quality level of a gas-station ready-made sandwich.
Lasagna noodles, ground beef, ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, sauce, onion and typical seasonings. It is always one of the first things to go when I bring it so it must be o.k.
For EIGHT DOLLARS?
Did you time travel from 1977?

Yeah, that's obnoxious.
If the guests all brought food.....how is it possible that YOU spent $1000 on the spread?
+1 how could you spend a grand, but still need everyone to provide more more more?
I'm actually not one of the posters who is opposed to you spending that much. It's a lot to me, but I wouldn't judge you for it. I do think it's shitty for you to spend that amount, invite guests, then criticize them for...what, exactly?
Maybe only the sister brought dessert. Why do you assume everyone brought something?
+1
NP here wondering how this comment has managed to unhinge so many... it seems the first PP has really hit a nerve with her comment. Maybe there are a lot of store-bough pie toters on DCUM!![]()
Store bought pie can be really good. It's a weird thing to get all crazy offended about.
Really? Most store bough pie I've had tastes absolutely awful- and I've had Kroger's. Not to mention it costs about $5. Would you be pleased if someone showed up with a box of Twinkie's from Walmart (and obviously, had the money to buy something better, if they're hopping out of an expensive car)?
I wouldn't necessarily expect a fancy French bakery confection if that is what you are asking. Nor would I assume that everyone who drives around an expensive car is a good cook or even has time to cook.
Maybe they've been on the road visiting other friends/family and they picked up a pie that they thought might be appreciated. Clearly it wasn't. Oops.
