I don't want to hear that it's about Mike Pence because I've been hearing Trump is a threat to homosexuals far longer than when he chose Pence as his VP.
My 9th grader said the gay, bi and pansexual kids at school have said they think he'll line them up and kill them all, but clearly that's outrageous. Still disturbing to hear that kind of fearmongering.
A stacked supreme court can overturn gay marriage; a blind eye to the likes of the KKK open the door for hate crimes and persecution that will go unpunished.
That is so ridiculous!! We as a nation will not turn back. We will not embrace the kkk.
As for hate crimes. Personally I think they are unconstitutional. Why? You are prosecuting belief and even reasoning. Just prosecute the damn crime.
As for gay marriage. As Hillary said herself, she is for equal treatment and protection. I personally think the majority of Americans feel that too. I do. But it's not enough anymore. Various groups want more than that. They want you to agree, to sanction and to hold the same belief. And that goes beyond this particular issue.
+1000. And I hope THAT is what will be reversed in the Trump administration. Fine if you want to get "married," but I don't have to bake your wedding cake.
Do you actually bake cakes for a living?
And what if a business refused to serve you because they didn't believe in your bigotry? I'm sure you'll be fine with that, even if there were no other similar business within 50 miles of your house, right?
NP. How would that come up? After looking into the issue, from what I understand, the evangelical bakers aren't going "My gaydar tells me you like men, so I refuse to bake this My Little Pony cake you're requesting for your niece's seventh birthday party," but rather, "I will not bake a cake for your marriage to another man."
So yes, I think it would be right and that the PP should be okay with a business refusing to bake him/her a cake saying "I don't have to bake gay people's wedding cakes."
And refusing to bake a cake for Trump voters is ok too I assume? Or fix their car or do their taxes? I don't think it is but it sounds like you feel differently about this kind of thing.

I am the PP you mentioned. Don't get me wrong, I would think the baker was a straight up backwards loser for being so opposed to gay people. That's exactly why I wouldnt want them to bake my cake. I have no interest in having a backwards loser any part of my happy day
