MCPS school recites it every morning. I assumed it was standard still? I went to FCPS and recited it every morning. The kids mumble and repeat the words, but I am doubtful many of them are actually feeling the pride of flag and country when they say it.

Not everyone who's kids don't know it has vehement feelings about it. I am the Hillary voter above whose child doesn't know it. I'm not opposed to her learning it, but I don't think that those words are in and of themselves important. I am glad that time is not taken from the classroom daily to repeat them (or any other words).

I'm not religious in the slightest and my child knows the pledge and I have zero issues with him saying "one nation under God." If he ever has an issues with it he can remain quiet on that part.

Yes--both 2nd and 1st grader know it. They do it in school since K. I am a huge fan of the pledge and them doing it.

It makes me sad that we've become so PC.
