My DH and I have a great marriage that works very well for us. We enjoy each other's company, we respect each other, and parent and run our family and household well. We don't have many similar interests, although we do share a basic outlook on the world and most political views. Each of us has several close friends, and we each have a strong social circle outside of our marriage. We were involved in different community and charitable organizations, enjoy different sports, and have different hobbies. I don't need to find everything and my husband, and it has actually worked out better for us that we don't. As long as spouses are complementary, and their marriage works well for them, who is anyone to say how people should prioritize what they choose in their spouse? That seems crazy.

I am a lady who chose the looks, because I really don't care about how much money the guy makes. I go for guys who are young and hot. Does that make me somehow superior to women who chose money? Is choosing for looks, which men usually love to brag about, somehow more noble than choosing for money?

Everyone has their preferences. I can't imagine any amount of money would make me cool with being with someone I considered ugly or unattractive, and I can't see how people do. But I also don't fault those who do.
