I'm curious as to why the OP things the girls dropped off the note. If she suspects that, then I think she should talk to the girl's parents first. If the girls dropped off the note, maybe they can put it into context.

I wouldn't do anything. Well maybe talk to MY kid about how some people think it is acceptable to tell someone I will kill you, but it really is not. Geez.
