Yes, DH convinced me to get the more expensive house based on our current income. We have kids now and I want to stay home with them or work part time. Too bad I can't because of this stupid house. At least DH likes the house and there are good schools.

We bought what we could easily afford and shot down what the realtor decided what we could afford. Not only did we refuse to be house poor, we didn't want to be retirement poor either. So no, we are not stretched at all.

No house is worth debt/financial stress. I am not one that likes living on the edge.

No, we bought beneath our means and wish we'd bought even further beneath our means. Have nothing in common with neighbors who are only concerned with conspicuous consumption. Actually thinking of "downsizing."

Yes. Living by water, loving it. All the neighbors have bmw, audi even bentley and hummer, we have an old honda. Love the location and the house.
