I think she does a good job of being an independent woman, and not clinging on to a man if he not worthy of her. I like that she is not a victim. I love the fact that she turns heartache into successful songs and makes money out of it. She is stunningly beautiful, with an amazing model worthy figure and has a wonderful life of a normal single 20 something woman.
She is allowed to date men, and she is allowed to dump them if they are not up to the mark. Why the double standards?
She is not doing drugs, not in abusive relationships, not smoking, not getting pregnant, not making sex tapes, not sexting, not getting her nude pictures hacked from the cloud. I think as far as celebrities are concerned, she is doing great.
Yes - she is all of this and then some. I love that she's succeeding so nicely and I hope that she continues to succeed. But she needs to learn to let some things go.
So what if Calvin Harris made some stupid snarky comment? The only reason anyone even knows about that dumb comment is because Taylor reacted to it. Let it go Taylor.

But after you listen to her for awhile - especially on live recordings - you realize that she really can't sing.
A lot of pop stars can't really sing, though, so I tried to get past that. But the Red album, with those horrible dirge-like duets, I could only listen to half the album. And then her transition into, what exactly is she trying to be now? Sexy? Yet still a "good girl"? It's hard to figure out. I would actually respect her more if she just owned it like Avril or Miley.
Right? And if you can't sing, you better be able to hit that eight-count. So she can't dance and she can barely carry a tune...what is so great about her? Can't believe she is supposed to the this generation's Madonna. I don't see how adults can listen to her music with a straight face.

She doesn't earn that Prince quote, but this one:
Game: blouses.

Anonymous wrote:An artist like Whitney Houston will be remembered for her gorgeous voice. But a lot of her songs have fairly basic lyrics. Ex: I will Always Love You
Whitney's voice is what made that song so beautiful. She performed it well. But the song itself (the lyrics), meh.
Most of Taylor's songs by comparison tell a story. There is more to the actual words.
Anonymous wrote:Well, I do appreciate that Swift writes her own songs and has huge concerts that entertain people without putting propellers on her breasts. Or singing about anacondas, or simulating sex or fellatio or caressing another singer's junk with a giant foam finger. I mean, it sounds crazy to actually write these things down like they are accomplishments, but that's where we are.
I mean, sometimes I show my daughter Katy Perry videos, but I always feel like it's a bit wrong to do so. Okay so she gets herself out of the jungle instead of relying on the man, but does she still need to have enormous boobs and a tiny waist and almost no clothes in order to do that? Taylor is also impossibly slim, but in general she keeps things covered and her dancing is lovably awkward, not sexy (whether that's intentional or not I'm not sure -- it seems intentional in Shake It Off).
trashy). Can't really fault Katy for being pretty, having a nice figure and knowing how (and when) to work it.

If she wanted to use an alias for the song writing credit before, then why did she have her people release the info that she wrote the song now that it's a hit for her ex? It seems like pique, and it seems like an ungenerous thing to do. Like, maybe Harris is right that she should focus on herself and her new relationship instead of trying to mess things up for him. She doesn't always need to be the center of attention, does she?
