Op, if you can get a uk passport I wouldn't think uk immigration would ask you any questions about your status in the uk. Your biggest issue will be taxes.

Listen, a very popular Brit show called Doc Martin will be filmed in the little village of Port Isaac in Cornwall between March and July of 2017. See if you can latch on to the production company and get some kind of work visa as a gopher. This is exactly the type of village you want. They hire villagers to direct traffic, deliver meals, clean houses the crew uses. You could probably get something.
