That's probably correct unless his health begins to fade. He probably doesn't want a house full of kids.

I wouldn't date you...unless you were the hottest woman on earth. Then I'd have sex with you, but I wouldn't date you.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Telling single moms not to date until age 50 is ridiculous. There are plenty of single dads who are interested in dating single moms. I'm sure these women don't want a man who's unfavorably weighing them against some 20-something single, childless woman with a firmer body but no clue how to be a parent or run an active household.
I'm sure I'll get skewered for saying this, but I would caution all women to be wary of men who are 40+ but have never been married. Sure it can work out sometimes, but in general there's a reason these guys aren't married with kids yet.
Good luck to all the single parents who are looking for their mate - there are lots of success stories so don't give up hope!
Right. Because it's all about these single parents and their love lives and making sure they are happy. Forget about the innocent kids who are thrown around in the mix of men/ women coming and going, in and out of their lives. They'll "adjust," I suppose.

So I guess I should give up on dating then?
OP, how old is your child?
Yes, most likely you should give up on dating until s/he is 18 and out of the house. Your kid, whose intact home was ripped apart by your divorce, needs you.

No, her kid needs to live in a reality where mom's house life doesn't revolve solely around them.
Wow.
Sad comment. I hope you're not a parent.
