Yes, because everyone has a 1 yr old photo shoot.

I can't think of anyone in my circle that doesn't get pictures taken at 1 yr. most buy a first year package with a newborn session, 3 month session, 6 month session and a 1 yr session with a smash cake.

I guess since I wasn't there when he said it I don't know the tone but without knowing all your baggage it sounds like a funny sitcom quip.

I developed PTSD from my child's birth. I don't think it's funny.

Why do people have so many views on cake? Cake, smash cake, piece of cake, whatever it is cake is always good. Who cares what kind of cake people give their kids.

I didn't do a smash cake, I just let my son eat a slice but to each their own.

I haven't read this entire ridiculous thread, but thought I would chime in.....because why not?

We got a free smash cake when we ordered the regular sheet cake for our kid's year party, and she didn't know what to do with it. My sister in law, obnoxious human that she is, took her hands and smashed them into the cake and was trying to show her to lick it off, but of course, DD started crying. DD was also fighting her first ear infection at the time, so she was already not in a great mood. Thank God though, because I'm pretty sure sis in law would have smashed her face into it.
