Wether you make 100k or 10k the fact that 300 people came to support is no small feat. I know some galas that can't get passed 75 parents therefor its low budget.

I have never posted re Shepherd but I can't imagine they would make $100k at the Mayflower, unless the hotel is donating the room and/or food. It seems more like a booster event as it seems that most schools have their auction on campus.

I don't know of any schools that have auction in their school grounds. However, I'm more in tune in the charter scene.

Janney does, but I don't know any other ES that has a space that big.

Shepherd doesn't have space to accommodate 300 plus folks on its campus or building.

She came to the BASIS auction a couple months ago which was held in NE, nowhere near her home.

She also attended the Shepherd Park Citizens Association's recent neighborhood potluck, so I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up. I like that she participates in neighborhood events.

Agreed, let's stay positive, folks. I'm actually nervous to see how it goes, since Shepherd has not put on an event of this scale before (at least no galas in recent years). Fingers crossed it goes smoothly, we raise some $$$ for the school, and a great time is had by all.

Semi-related question: does Muriel make an appearance now that it's her neighborhood school? If not, should she?

And what is the gala money funding?

WTF is wrong with you? Do you apply this level of scrutiny to other schools' galas, or just Shepherd's gala?

If Shepherd boosters come here to brag about the success of their gala, they should expect to be asked questions about it. Seems like you just want to brag and then shut the discussion down.

The gala hasn't happened yet. I'm sure we'll be back to brag about its success in two weeks. Crawl back under your rock until then.

NP but it's just one woman that's asking these questions and she's quite annoying. She comes on every Shepherd thread. Nothing or no answer will satisfy her.

It's so easy to hate and not support. At some point you will get tired of it.

If you have to ask these questions than you are not an active parent. Come to a PTA meeting you might be surprised to hear something you didn't think existed.
