Ada is great. Aidah is… not.

That would be aye-ee-duh -- which is an opera. No.

Ada is old ladyish, but everyone seems to love old lady names these days.

I do hope OP did not use the 'i' in Ada/Adah.

Love Ada! Why try to get creative with the spelling?

I would spell it Ada. I look at Aidah and think it should be pronounced "eye-dah"

Speaking as someone whose mother wanted a unique name, she will spend her life spelling it and pronouncing it, and people will still get it wrong. I can’t tell you how many times my records have been lost at the doctor’s office and pharmacy. In my case, my mom liked the sound of my name, but spelled it in the most straightforward way possible. Your daughter could have the same name without deliberately complicating her life. If you want to use creative spelling, perhaps you could use it in the middle name, where it would be easier to omit or simply use the initial.

I’ve had two students who pronounced Aida, ay-duh not aye-ee-duh like the opera. I think aye-ee-duh sounds prettier, but wonder if it’s only pronounced that way when singing.

Just a different take on spelling I suppose.

I love the name Ada. I love the name Aida which is pronounced like Ida or like the opera (eye -- EE -- da).

Aidah is ridiculous.
