This is exactly how I feel about SSFS - so glad my kid gets to spend his day there. I breathe deeply every time I turn into campus. Don't tell anyone, but I also leave him in aftercare, happily running around like a wild thing, for an extra half an hour a couple days a week so I can go walk or run on the trails through the woods all by myself. Its so beautiful and peaceful in those woods.

Beautiful campus with a very ugly sports field. I understand why they did it but it looks so out of place

Madeira is beautiful.
Also WIS, the upper school at the Tregaron Campus. From the soccer field you can see the Cathedral, the mansion is beautiful, it has a Dasha with great views and the school is surrounded by green spaces.

I have the same feeling at Barnesville. I haven't nominated Barnesville for this thread because I've visited some other campuses that have fancier buildings and more elaborate landscaping. But the natural environment around the school is gorgeous and it enables my blood pressure to drop about 20 points whenever I go there.

I've visited some other campuses that I think are quite pretty, Norwood, St. Andrews, etc., but in terms of personal taste I like being further from heavily trafficked roads.

Totally agree! One of the school houses was redone about ten years ago, but the other definitely needs to be redone as does the Science Center. I think they are focused on redoing the dorms which really really needed to remodeled especially when you compare to other boarding schools like Episcopal or Mercersburg.

Sidwell's sports facility and grounds remind me of a college. I think it is gorgeous. Inside is just okay.

Potomac I don't get. Nothing special at all. Very similar to the school my child goes to - Holton, which is average at best. Desperate need for a sports facility overhaul.



I think Holton will expand or update their campus soon. Recently, they updated the front entrance and the dining room. I'm sure more updates are coming. It is a lovely campus and they use their space well.

It depends on your standards. If you like outdoors, then Madeira wins for overlooking the Potomac. If urban is more what you like, then perhaps the Cathedral schools or Sidwell? Quiet but in a city, perhaps Visi or Episcopal? It depends what your definition of beautiful is.
