280k Both feds with engineering degrees (masters and PhD). Probably could get more working in private sector but the hours are stable and we have young kids.

OP - we are on the lower end of you question but we are in sales and litigation support (not lawyer!)

My husband started a law firm (not fresh out of law school) with a friend of his. I work at a tech firm (since fresh out of grad school). We also generate income from our investment properties.

Biglaw equity partner and SAH spouse. varies by year but 2016 is projected to be $2MM

Attorney and CPA- 350k HHI

2 tech-related workers (not traditional IT jobs), both with STEM PhDs here. Our HHI is 500-600K depending on bonuses etc (we're both 38).

My salary has tripled since leaving my Fed job less than 3 years ago. But I loved that job.

Don't the hygienists do most of the "dirty work," so to speak? The dentist basically works on the teeth after they've been cleaned. That mostly consists of doing fillings and crowns and checking x-rays. Plus, it's basically a 9-5/40 hour work week. For that money, it sounds like a pretty good gig to me.

I wanted my son Hermey to be an elf, but he pursued a career in dentistry instead. Misfit toy, that one.

Lobbyist and defense contractor = $470k plus bonus. Bonuses have been anywhere from 75k to 190k.
