Unofficial smoking bathroom. Out in open. 89-93 local private. Smoke in there was so thick omg.

CT, class of 93. The student smoking section was outside, just past the parking lot on a strip of sidewalk that was JUST off of school grounds, yet still visible to the security guard. I never could understand how those kids could endure the New England winters in their little black Guns N Roses jackets just to smoke cigarettes at 7 am. The power of nicotine!

HS on Long Island, there was an official smoking area for students when I started in 1990 but it was gone when I graduated in 1994. It must have been eliminated in '91 or '92?

I don't remember a smoking area but we had a childcare center for students' kids. 1991.

I graduated in 1993. When I was a freshman (89-90), the senior class was the last class to be allowed to smoke on campus. You had to be a senior to smoke since the smoking age in state is 18. The smoking pit was right across from main office so they did chase freshman-juniors out of it.

No, went to H.S. In Chesapeake, and graduated in 90. They got rid of the smoking area the year before I got there. I remember in Jr. High being really shocked to learn that there was a smoking area for teens in the High School.

Yes. Class of 89. MCPS.

Graduated in '88, we had a student smoking area.

'81 to '85. Yes.

Went to two different high schools.

In one, the smoking area was called "the slab"

In the other, it was called "the pit"
