Maybe you should quickly research which non-Catholic privates were test-optional and throw in a last minute application without a test. Try to at least get waitlisted so you have a potential school to work with just in-case.

Gonzaga also has to take a certain number from each school. Some schools have more legacy families which may put a kid on the waitlist who would get in coming from another school.

I also wish you the best of luck and hope he gets in. It sounds like he has a great shot. If he is a strong athlete and has been recruited for sports with As and high HSPT I wouldn't worry at all. Recruitment and being flagged by a coach goes a long way at a school like Gonzaga.
Thanks for the uplift! He's an awesome swimmer - has swam in regional meets - and has his own little tennis company & gives lessons during the summer & weekends. I thought his essay was really impactful. I'm now a little dejected, I honestly thought he had a decent chance.

A 97% is tough?
Yikes. I know a lot of boys who will score MUCH lower than this, including my own.
Gonzaga is heavy on legacy. Last year, if you weren't legacy, not a big donor, not a recruited athlete not top overall, you didn't get in.
Not true. My kid came from public. First one in the family to apply and get in. Straight As and 98 HSPT. He was not a recruited athlete.

Heights uses SSAT (optional), and St. Anslem's uses the gifted measurement tests OLSAT and CTY's SCAT, so he'll still have to take tests.
