She is probably wondering why a woman would settle for being an OW. I think the main answer is that they want the companionship and the passion without the commitment and the work. They can't really respect their AP's marriage because they are willing to accept so much less for themselves.

If it were me I'd have trouble respecting the person's marriage because they have no respect for it and they are in it!

+1 except my ap got divorced from his wife last year. Still he's accepting that I won't leave.
