No. Poop is also a problem. Your dog should pee on your lawn. You chose to own a dog and a lawn. What did you think would happen?

I live in VA 22033 in a very dog friendly neighborhood. There are frequent complaints about dog poop and when it doesn't get addresses, it get out of control. It only takes a few daily offenders to make the neighborhood look bad. Some of the worst offenders usually just blame it on the foxes.

I've never had a problem telling neighbors not to let their dog go in my yard because I know that if I'm not out there, they might not pick it up. In some neighborhoods like mine, you have to be vigilant or the entitled dog owners will take over. Some people just don't think that dog shit is a big deal.

The real problem is pee. when our large dog peed on a lawn (always ours) it left huge yellow then brown circular spots.

This. Yes, he technically has the right to make the request. But, sorry, you're a controlling douche if that bothers you this much. You just are. And, don't give me nonsense about "my kids play there." There's an awful lot of disgusting things in the yard. So, if you're letting your kids play there to begin with, it can't bother you that much.

But, now you know, OP. So, don't let the dog go there. But, also, I like to know who the anti-dog crazies are so I can avoid them. Luckily, I live is a super dog friendly neighborhood so it's mostly a non-issue.

Not the PP, but I also live in an incredibly dog friendly neighborhood. News flash: you cannot actually control when your dog has to poop. Our dogs have the run of our fenced yard, but we also walk them. And guess what? Sometimes, they poop on their walks. It's a biological function, so even if you do your best to give them opportunities at home to poop, you cannot make them poop there. We always scoop. Heck, one time, our dog's poop was loose, and my son took a water bottle and paper towels back to the place there the dog had pooped to clean again.

It always interests me that so many object to dogs' pooping in their yards when the owners clean it up. News flash: lots of wild animals are pooping in your yard all the time. Not a big deal. Now dogs *peeing* in your yard kills your grass and leads other dogs to mark territory by peeing, too. Wanna get your panties in a bunch about something, that's the one to choose.

As a dog owner, I can't think of many other things that would piss me off more than having a fellow dog owner let her dog poop in my yard in front of me.

Neither of you was rude, but you probably should have apologized and said that the dog caught you by surprise (which was true, right?) It sounds like your neighbor mad his point in a reasonable way.

And yes, you should not let your dog relieve itself in other people's yards, even if you do clean up. Yuck.

Now, if everyone on the street has dogs and nobody cares if the dogs relieve themselves in other yards, fine. But in my generally laid-back but kid-heavy and considerate neighborhood, it's not done.

Your dog shat on someone's property. Even if you pick it up there is a ton of nastiness you are not picking up. So you are being completely rude. Why can't your dog shit on your own lawn? Frankly though it's you posting this that makes you seem so ignorant - that you can't understand this?
