I can't believe no one has named Star Wars. Both A New Hope and Empire Strikes Bank are ones I go back to all the time.

I'll also always watch Some Like it Hot and a bunch of MGM musicals - Gigi, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Singin' in the Rain, etc.

I have an odd fixation with the original Gidget with Sandra Dee and James Darren.

More modern - I can always fall into watching the aughts Ocean's Eleven, Sweet Home Alabama, That Thing You Do!, and 10 Things I hate About You.

I loved Life is Beautiful when I saw it but don't think I could watch it again

I had this exact thought when I read PP's comment - and it made me reflect on why I like to rewatch some but not others. For me the movie has to be either funny or beautiful (locations and people) or both (preferably) but never "heavy" or "tragic" or "deep".
Schindler's List was a really great movie but I don't think I ever watched it in its entirety again after the first time.

Even Titanic is too tragic for me.
I guess I have too much empathy

What's the best P&P?

The BBC Mini with Colin Firth! I've got it on DVD and I DVR'd one of the many times Ovation has marathoned it. I've subjected my husband to it so much we get into arguments about which episode to watch. He says if he has to sit through it, he doesn't want to see anything before Elizabeth goes to Pemberly.

BBC version is the best! I will watch it literally every single time I notice it's on.

Also, Die Hard, Jurassic Park, Groundhog Day, and Wet Hot American Summer.
