Hamilton and Kenyon are not different from one another and are both on my DD list. They both have excellent options for writers and are small and great for a student who wants to go to a school with a more remote setting, which can promote unity between students on campus.

Sewanee's applicant pool is increasing dramatically. That is going to bring down acceptance rates. Acceptance rate went from 60 percent or so in 2014 to 38 percent last Fall. We'll see if the trend continues but my bet is yes as it broadens its base from the South. They are also seriously cracking down on partying, promoting athletic success and recruiting strong deans.

It used to be Sewanee and Rhodes. Now people are talking about Sewanee and Kenyon, Hamilton. The current president has a vision of doing what he did with Middlebury at Sewanee.

of people went to Vandy so we're not scared by Tennessee the way some of you guys might be!

Sewanee = the school where the brave go to drink after having been rejected everywhere else.

Sewanee is unabashedly a fun school. The academics are not a party though. The expectations are high and many do not make it. It could be that many of the admittees looked at other opportunities, but I have yet to meet a Sewanee grad who did not feel that their experience was both memorable, enjoyable and transformative.

Don't know about Hamilton, but Kenyon is not more academically focused than Sewanee. It's true that its students may have a different focus and way of partying.

This year (2016) it was in the 30's. This might not have been officially cited anywhere but it was known on campus.
