Love FNL. Some story lines arent perfect but its a great show. I love the relationship between the Taylors. I also love the documentary style filming. One thing I didnt realize is the actors were highly encoiraged to improvise their lines during the filming: http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_tv/2007/03/the_revolutiona.html

That's the great thing about binge-watching. I didn't like the Becky story line at all - so I skipped through it.

I loved the first two seasons but then it seemed to lose its way. I feel like they were grabbing at story lines once the original kids graduated. And I hated the daughter...Julie? god she was annoying and made one dumb choice after another.

Football was huge in my small midwestern town. I could have given a f***.

You could watch fnl the film.

And fruitvale station if you can stand to be emotionally destroyed. Michael Jordan is really really good in it.

Alright, so for all us Friday Night Lights lovers... what other shows fall into a similar vein we should watch?

I've heard Parenthood recommended many times but have had such a hard time getting into it. I think it might be because I have a very small family and can't appreciate the dynamics of all the relationships (although, I don't like sports or football either and I got into FNL).

So what else? For those of us sadly done with FNL, we need some more suggestions!

Question, is high school football in Texas really like that? Meaning, is the depiction accurate, where they invest big money and the team plays at the Cowboys stadium?

Yes. Absolutely. I went to a 5A public school in Texas. You would not believe the amount of money that is spent on football. Skyboxes. Exoduses to Cowboys stadium and Alamodome during the playoffs. It is not joke that it is God, Country and Football in Texas - and not always in that order.

I started watching it AGAIN from the beginning, dammit. I saw it the first time but this thread got me nostalgic.

Crucifctorius!!!! Landry has some of the best one liners. Also, Matt saying, "Joo-lay" just makes me laugh.
