I met my guy online, we emailed for a bit- then texted throughout the day for a week. We had our first date that lasted 6+ hours, I got to know him before I had sex with him, just because it doesn't fit your ideal doesn't make it wrong from everyone

Someone who sleeps with you on the first date and passes judgement and doesn't call again is so worth having, OP should have waited? I think that is what people are trying to say, be yourself do what you want there are people out there who will respect you no matter what and they are the ones worth having.

Bingo. People need to stop playing games and just say what they mean. Those are the kinds of people I dated--some started off with sex early, some were slow simmers, but the one thing they all had in common: They were honest, sincere people and not "game players." I really have no time for that. Unrequited interest and love is disappointing and often even hurtful, but I never regret not "catching" someone by following some arbitrary set of rules.

But this has been going on for decades. I know our current generation is all fast and loose, but I'm not sure it's going to get them where they want to be.

Current generation- as in not just the ladies.

Sorry, it's not kiss and then get married anymore. Plenty of people hookup and even- gasp- have sex on the first date. Men and women.
