Personally, i think a small stud in the nose is unobtrusive and can be very pretty. I'm surprised at how open I am to the idea. I can't stand tattoos and things like eyebrow piercings, but this seems harmless to me.

I'm wondering how others feel. (I think I can guess ...)

I wasn't thrilled about it, but I let DD, 17, get a septum piercing.

Why not? Better than her tongue...or vagina.

I would not allow my daughter to pierce any part of her face or tongue. The vagina is an internal portion of the genitals, so it would be downright foolhardy to pierce.

You will undoubtedly be very close working together at a 7-11.

Yes, I would allow it. I see no harm in it, and it's fairly unobtrusive, as you said. The only thing I would do is make sure first that she understands how important it is to make sure she keeps in clean, etc.

I know many people who have had them, looked great with them, and later chose to remove them due to jobs where it wasn't appropriate. It healed totally fine and left basically no visible scar. Personally, I think it'd be good for her to do it now so she can take it out for a job when she's older if she's ready to do so at that time. Otherwise, she'll be waiting to get it and them might have a new piercing and be less interested in removing it.
