You probably don't want to hurt your spouse's feelings by saying outright that you detest date nights, so take a different approach to things.

Suggest watching a movie on Netflix over some wine and cheesy popcorn after the kids go down.

No one should force you to do something you do not want to do. And you should NEVER feel any guilt for feeling the way you do.

My DH would like sex EVERYDAY. It is on his mind ALL the time.
I would like sex, NEVER (I am nursing, maybe that has to do with it).
I am not talking about just intercourse, I also don't care for other things, including solo activities.
So I just do it for him, as I would anything else he cares about (he does the same for me, for the things I care about).
We have settled on 3 times a week. Make dinner, have dinner, put kids to bed, brush teeth, have sex, relax!
It is not that I don't enjoy it, I just don't need it/want it.

It is better this way because he was starting to do things to get sex (i.e. chores or other things) and I did not like that dynamic.
I told him you will get sex anyhow, even if you are an ass, so be good for goodness sake, not for sex. And he is.


We should switch husbands. Yours could get it before and after work, and you could live a celibate life with my husband. Win win!

Not the PP here, but DW feeling the same way.
If I go on a date night, when I get home, I am tired and want to go to SLEEP. I don't want to have sex. DH though, thinks date night must come with sex.
So if there sex to be had, I'd rather do it before, so it is out of the way and I can then relax and enjoy.

In our case, it's the wife. I would be ballistically cranky if I went a week without. Then again, I'm in my late 40s, so my hormones are running wild, although I've almost always been like this.

We had sex twice in one night a handful of time and I met my husband when he was 22. Now in our mid 30s we probably have it every 2 months and it usually sucks (for Me)
