Not that it matters but mis-typed. Met at 22 and started dating at 24, still didn't date anyone in the interim

Average age of marriage in DC is 29. I believe it is higher for those who are white-collar professionals with advanced degrees. I am a big law attorney and when I got married at 28, that was younger than virtually everyone I knew.

I would guess the pp was talking about white-collar professionals with advanced degrees. Originally I am from the UK and over there the average age for first marriage hit mid 30s for white-collar professionals, i was the only one of my peers who got married in her late 20s but my husband is 6 years older than me.

Generally in Europe across all social classes people tend to marry later than in america.

17 both of us. Met during freshman orientation. Married at 24.

No need to get married at 23, but meeting a great mate in college is a good bet.
