I disagree with your premise. Zimmerman did not choose to "garner media and public attention for himself," but rather was thrust into the public spotlight because what was and should have been a garden-variety self-defense case, barely worthy of the local news blotter, was made round-the-clock national news for months, and Zimmerman subject to the full Two-Minutes-Hate treatment, day-in and day-out, for all that time. If Zimmerman's own efforts to rehabilitate his reputation and profit, in some small measure, from his experience, *after* all this occurred, justifies ongoing media scrutiny of his every foible, to be cast nationwide whenever it can be used to further damage his reputation...? Well, all I can say is that I disagree with that, and a responsible media would have accepted that they got the story wrong and at least have the decency to let the guy alone going forward.

I say that with no great admiration for Zimmerman, who seems like a rather pedestrian fellow who gets into the types of scrapes that are commonplace for literally tens of thousands of his fellow men, all across this great nation of ours. Yet, he is the one who is on CNN for life, it seems. It reeks of payback.
Commonplace?! Did you say commonplace?!! How many scrapes with the law or involvement with violent disputes has this guy had? Sorry, this is not commonplace for the vast majority of people. Guy's a screw up. If he wants to stay off CNN, well, he can figure out how to stay out of trouble. Literally, millions of men have figured out how to do that.


No kidding. Zimmerman and this guy are just upset that karma caught up with Zimmerman. Did anyone else doubt that it would? I know a guy like this, self described neighborhood watch captain, and he is a disaster. No one wants to associate with this type, IRL.

Not at all surprised. This nut job spends all his time trying to point fingers and enforce his kind of law. What did he think was going to happen? It really was just a matter of time. I would bet anything he has not yet learned his lesson. He will never shut his big mouth, and he has zero boundaries: a recipe for disaster. He brings it upon himself. I would also bet that there is not one person that really feels bad. Maybe there are a handful of people in this world that act like his friend to his face, so as to avoid getting shot, but that's about it.

I do not admire Zimmerman. He appears to make poor choices. But he does not deserve to be unlawfully stalked by Mathew Apperson (if that is who this turns out to be) - let alone killed or shot at. Why do you all want that so badly?
