Op here: I went to the event tonight and met tons of girls. Most of them live in university housing so it's great because I live here too. Mostly my husbands friends from mosque didn't even know he's married: ) they were surprised to see us together.
No, wedding rings aren't an islamic concept. We both do not wear rings.

That's pretty strange. I wouldn't care that DH didn't take the initiative to introduce me to co-workers' wives. I would care if he NEVER mentioned me as part of casual conversation all co-workers have.
