Nope. All you have to do is have some sort of relationship like a child together or living together. You are "under oath" when you request a restraining order, but they can't bust you for lying and won't try to when you file, so if you say you are in fear for your life, just about every judge will approve your request for a temporary restraining order.
A longer term one, on the other hand, is much more difficult.

This is absurd. An employer on a dead end street that just *happens* to be where your ex affair partner lives?
Sounds like the wife needs a restraining order against you.
