I think it is pretty telling that this thread's last post was 4/15 and no one posted anything after the last episode. Guess I'm not the only one that doesn't care what happens.

Is it compassion Don is showing Diana, or is it that she's some kind of mother figure he's desperately clinging to -- sort of like he wouldn't let his last lover leave the hotel room. I don't get it.

I think part of the problem with this final section of Mad Men is the direction. We've had scenes in the past where people have said totally unrelated things to each other, but in this last effort everything is disjointed and clashing and i think because whoever is directing is rushing through it.

I totally agree with the third writer about "final seasons" and I don't like where Mad Men is heading.

Plus, I want happy, grab-life-by-the-balls-take-no-prisioners Don back. I'm tired of sad, lonely Don.

Yes, during the early seasons, Don received about 4 million, and he'd surely made a heck of a lot more since then.

I was puzzled by this too. Also Megan's mother said Don ruined their family. WTF. All Don did was marry Megan and move her into a swanky NY apartment and support her dream of being an actress. She didnt have to struggle like other starving actresses. She'd still be a secretary if it wasnt for Don. It's not Don's fault that Megan wasnt a very good actress. This waitress storyline is making me glad the show is ending. Why chew up so much screen time on her. She can go away now.


These were my thoughts. I felt like the divorce was mostly propelled by Megan choosing to pursue her dream of being an actress over her marriage to Don. Don wasn't terrible to her and she got plenty out of the relationship ("You were a millionaire when I met you."). It was weird to see Don acting and feeling so guilty when Megan was a petulant child.

I feel the same way, the relationship hasn't been convincing to me at all.
