Ditto. It's a lot easier to say "No" now, than to kick her out later. Past behavior predicts future behavior.

The woman is still of working age and apparently wants to retire early at the expense of her kids/grand kids. That doesn't sound like it's going to be very practical in this situation especially since the lady will be losing her healthy insurance in the process. At the very least, she should keep her current job until she finds a new one.

If the situation was reversed and Op wanted to give it all up and go back to live with her mom at her mom's expense would that be realistic?

Op's first consideration is her own children and the well being of her marriage.
