Thanks for your kind comments 15:03 and 15:08. Glad to hear there was some movement on the waitlist last year. The glass of wine, I'm definitely having, but the tears will have to wait until DC is in bed. We haven't told DC yet, as it was child's first choice school, too. We suspect it had more to do with the amazing playground than the curriculum, but hey play's an important part of ES, too. We are going to see if we're wait listed or rejected before telling DC.

We did get accepted to our 2nd choice, which helps some but we all SO loved Beauvoir.

I agree with this. I posted of my DC acceptance out of excitement but after doing so realized everyone may not receive the Congratulatory Email from HOS. Please accept my apologies and Good Luck to everyone as you search for a school that it best for your DC. Apologies again!

Thank you for responding. I think that makes it quite likely that DC was wait-listed or rejected. It's very disappointing, as Beauvoir was our first choice. OK, actually, a part of me is pissed. How could they reject my adorable child? Now I need to go work on acceptance and becoming more copacetic and philosophical.

For parents who are in the same boat we are, our commiserations. I know it's not the end of the world, and I know we are joined by a huge number of awesome parents and awesome kids. But, I am probably going to cry a little.

Of course. But, as I noted, check out the other Beauvoir thread. Families began receiving PK notifications at around 9:15 this morning -- both sibling and non-sibling.

So, I suspect the PK notifications were the first to be sent.
