I honestly don't know where I'm supposed to wear their clothes. They're a little too casual for work (I've tried on work-style dresses there that were WAY too short and I'm 5'2".) And their casual clothes are too stuffy or prim.

Bad fabric in nice designs - it’s torture.

Loft's problem--even when I was poor and in my early 20s--has been QUALITY.

The itchy, scratchy, cheap, flammable fabric. NOTHING in that store has ever felt good to me. When I see a garment I like, I touch it. I've never touched anything in Loft and thought, "Oh, that feels nice."

AT used to have high-quality basics that looked nice and felt great. But now they've got the cheapies, too. I'll gladly pay a lot more for quality. Banana Republic used to be wonderful. Now you can only get nice clothing if you pay through the nose.

I have a limited wardrobe of high-quality pieces, and I fill in with a Rent the Runway Unlimited subscription every few months, to coincide with weddings, work events, etc.

I feel like most stores have these overpriced clothes. I haven't bought clothing for regular price is many years and that includes for my kids.

I like that their garments are the female version of a man's business suit. Bland. Acceptable. Unoffensive. It's a solid handshake of an ensemble.

Not a too-tight- in an effort to seem masculine and tough in today's workforce handshake, and not a ghastly cotillionesque, palm turned down, quick fingertip gripping hold-not-a-handshake used by those who cling to appearing overly feminine. It sends a very clear message that you may or may not have genitals and that you may or may not have showed up to work and that neither is anyone's business.

Not so attention-grabbing as to have somebody feel justified in attempting to 'grab the puss' but not so dowdy as to have the effect of pouring bleach on coworker's genitals.

I have standards; I can't be purchasing my wardrobe from places with "Barn" or "Banana" in the name.

The quality is quiet depressing comparing to what it used to be. It’s not animosity from my part, just feedback so ATL use it to improve.

I didn’t read this whole thread, but for me lift is wash n trash. The shirts never look the same after being washed. They look like a no shape shirt made out of tissue paper.

I don't understand you Loft 0-2s who wear higher sizes in BR. I find BR to be even larger.

Autumn of the Bell Sleeves . . . I was in LA and had to buy a dress for an event that unexpectedly came up. All I could find on short notice was a bell-sleeved floral print dress from Loft (I'm 5'2", which means that in a fashion emergency, I need to shop petites b/c no time to hem). Sadly, my law school secret crush from years ago was in attendance. I'd like to destroy the photos (have already burned the dress).

JCrew clothes look and feel cheap and are way expensive.
