This is the only country in the world that force people to "donate" or contribute money to a private enterprise.
I used this example before but is like "donating" money to Microsoft because the do a great job making software for our kid.

we'll make a small gift to help with participation, but the year over year tuition increases have tapped our ability to make additional gifts to the school.

Lucky you! No way we can afford that (paying for college and full rate tuition (36K+ at a private).

School is more than 30K, and we are in the income zone where we make a little too much to qualify for FA, but not enough to really afford it. We give $500, which is a stretch, give to the teachers at holiday/end-of-year, and donate more than 5K worth of items to the auction each year.
