Amen.

No "ie" EVER.

Stacy is almost as bad as Tracy.

Stacy is short for Anastasia, but has become a name in its own right. Makes me wonder why Elizabeth is suggested so many times on the Betty thread when the names are so different (I really like Betty, but Elizabeth - while classic - just doesn't appeal to me.)

I wasn't talking about Stacie. Stacy/Stacey are the spellings that were being talked about in that particular post. I think most are going to ask which of those 2 spellings it is anyway. So, in that case, I think it is just preference.

I personally used an -ie over the more common -y spellings for my daughter's name, but it doesn't work for me with this name.

There are lots of names with multiple accepted spellings. Katherine/Catherine for example. My husband is a BrYan, not a BrIan. So, this is going to happen whether you give what is currently the more popular spelling or not.

But it's not true for every name. Michelle or Michele? Up to you. Ann or Anne? Up to you.

Jennifer or Jenifer? One is non-standard and weird. Stacie isn't quite Jenifer but it's not Stacy either.

The one person I knew with this name (at a former company I worked for), wasn't my fave person. So, can't help it, not a fan of this name.
