OP,

Your son is 12, and this bothers you? This is a cousin, not a sibling! How odd! I'd be flattered!

Best laugh of the day!

I hope the youngsters are getting this one.

They shouldn't since it should be brother, not cousin.

I still got it though

Maybe she always had a name in mind for her son and it just happens to be your son's name? But still, I'd feel annoyed too for a little while.

Did you trademark his name? It is none of your business what she names her child.

+1

This is how I feel. Someone did this to me. It was a friend of my mother's. I don't like the people, because they have been blatantly rude to me in the past. Unprovoked. Then they go and take an unusual name I painstakingly picked out? They can shove it.

I'm with you, OP. But if you say something, you are the "bad guy". You know how that goes. Wait until their turn comes. And hope you are there for it

Thank you for nicely demonstrating that people who take issue with this "name stealing" really have issues with the people, not the behavior.

And problems with narcissism.

Seem to have touched a nerve, oh trashy one. If the name is not common place, especially if the two names are not common place, it is understood by normal people to find other names.

You are out of your f---ing mind if you think that "normal" people are defined by not using names - whether common place or not - that may be identical to one's that a friend, relative or acquaintance have used for their offspring.

Do you realize how petty you sound and how something so trivial is bothering you suggests that you sense of priorities are askew?

My sister, best friend, and manager can "steal" DD's name (both of them lol). This is some dumb shit.

Nope, not about nerves, just observation. Uncommon names aren't owned by anyone, just like common names.

I see why they are rude to you, grow the heck up. Painstakingly picked out -- do you think your kid was the first to have that name? Bye, Felecia!!

Not really. This was just typical of their trashy behaviors. Nice try though.

How many people actually know thier cousin's middle names? I know the first names of my first cousins and most of my second cousins (to be fair there's over 75 of them), but I couldn't tell you their middle names for the life of me.
